Experiences

Polly graduated from Jiao Tong University, School of Nursing in Shanghai, China. She came to Australia in 2007 and completed her Bachelor of Nursing degree at Australian Catholic University. To further her studies, she continued her master’s degree through the same university in 2010.

 

Polly has been practicing as a theatre scrub nurse for the last 8 years with 5 years experiences specialising in cardiothoracic surgeries, where her passion falls. Therefore, on top of her master’s degree, she also completed her graduate diploma (perioperative nursing) through University of Tasmania in 2018, which specialising in trauma and cardiac. She has a wide experience in coronary artery bypass surgeries, valve surgeries, aorta (including arch) surgeries, chest wall reconstructions, lobectomy, video-assisted thoracotomy surgeries, etc. She is also trained and assessed as the first assistant for da Vinci robotic surgeries.

 

She has also graduated from La Trobe University as a perioperative nurse surgical assistant in 2021. She is now a member of Australia Association of Nurse Surgical Assistant.
